CoHo Summerfest – Week 4
JULY 14 – 17, 2016
When Thoughts Attack
Kelly Kinsella
A woman walks into a restaurant to order lunch and is sucked into a whirlpool of anxiety.
Clinging to her sense of humor and an emergency Xanax,
she teeters between the salmon or a complete nervous breakdown.
The act of ordering lunch has never been so entertaining!
ABOUT THE SHOW
WHEN THOUGHTS ATTACK received a first reading hosted by the Actors Fund of New York in Brooklyn, with staging and design by Cory Grant. SUNY New Paltz invited Kelly to workshop the show where she paired up with fellow alum Padraic Lillis. The world premiere occured at the prestigious Ars Nova Theatre in midtown Manhattan where it was seen and selected by the terraNova Collective for their ninth annual soloNOVA Festival at IRT. It continued to be presented regionally at theatres in the greater NYC area as well as on college campuses along the eastern seaboard. During this time The Cell Theatre in Chelsea hosted a weekly performance of the show for over a year. The play was produced off-Broadway at the Duke On 42nd Street.
