Covid Policy

CoHo Productions is committed to the safety and well-being of our patrons when you attend a live event.

Whenever you attend a live event at CoHo, we want you to know we’ve got your back. CoHo Productions is part of a growing coalition of Portland theatre and arts venues that have agreed upon Covid-19 Vaccination and Mask Requirements for audiences, artists, and staff through the end of 2021. Learn more about the Portland Performing Arts Vaccine Coalition HERE.

What you can expect from CoHo artists and staff

When on-site, all staff, artists, creatives, collaborators, and anyone who enters the building are required to show proof of vaccination or a negative Covid test no more than 48 hours old (this includes actors and collaborators during rehearsals). When in the building, everyone will be required to wear a mask, regardless of vaccination status.

To make our indoor environment safer and to improve air quality in the buildings, all HVAC units have been upgraded to equity standards. During the pandemic, we will be keeping our audience size small, seating patrons one seat apart, and limiting house size to 50% of our regular capacity.

Please keep an eye on this page, we will update Covid protocol as things evolve.

What we will expect from our patrons

Starting August 1, 2021, all patrons will be required to participate in our Covid contact tracing process. Patrons will be required to show proof of vaccination or negative test certification (no more than 48 hours old) upon entry, and to wear masks regardless of vaccination status.

Patrons will need to be masked and fully vaccinated with an FDA authorized vaccine in order to attend live events at CoHo, and must show proof of vaccination and identification upon entry to the venue.

“Fully vaccinated” means the performance date must be at least 14 days after the second dose of a two-dose COVID-19 vaccine, or at least 14 days after a single-dose vaccine. For children under 12 and people with a medical condition or closely held religious belief that prevents vaccination, guests may provide proof of a COVID-19 PCR test taken within 48 hours of the performance start time or a negative COVID-19 antigen test taken within 6 hours of the performance start time.

Upon entry, patrons will be required to show proof of vaccination + ID, wear a mask, and will agree to have their temperature taken. Any patron with a temperature greater than 100.4° will be asked to leave and return again on a different night. Patrons will then be asked two questions:

  • Have you tested positive for Covid in the past 14 days?
  • Have you been exposed to someone who’s tested positive for Covid in the last 14 days?

If patrons answer yes to either of these questions, they will be asked to leave and return again 14 days after the date of exposure or positive test. Patrons will then fill out a short Covid contract tracing survey, show valid ID, and will be admitted into the show.

All patrons and front-of-house staff members will be required to wear a mask during pre-show, during the run of the show, and as they exit the building after the show concludes.

If you have any questions, please contact us at coho@cohoproductions.org.
