We change lives and improve the wellness of our community by telling our stories.<\/em><\/h5>\n
Founded\u00a0as an off-shoot of Artists Repertory Theatre’s education outreach program,\u00a0WELLARTS<\/a>\u00a0has been helping ordinary people to share their extraordinary stories through their\u00a0‘writing-for-theater’ workshops since 2000.\u00a0The concept is simple – participants learn to write down their stories and actors bring them to life for audiences. In addition to programs for vets and people living with physical or mental illness, WellArts sponsors a\u00a0VOICES OF OUR ELDERS<\/a>\u00a0program to unearth and dramatize the personal tales of our seniors.<\/div>\n

CoHo’s season\u00a0opener\u00a0THE OUTGOING TIDE<\/a>\u00a0tells the poignant yet funny story of a family dealing with\u00a0suspected\u00a0Alzheimer’s, the specter of assisted living and issues of\u00a0personal choice. \u00a0In a special talk-back following the matinee performance on\u00a0Sunday, October 20th<\/strong>, WellArts actors will interact with our audience members to\u00a0elicit our own\u00a0stories and create a new mini-performance on the spot!<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
