A\u00a0woman walks into a restaurant to order lunch and is sucked into a whirlpool of anxiety.<\/p>\n

Clinging to her sense of humor and an emergency Xanax,<\/p>\n

she teeters between the salmon or a complete nervous breakdown.<\/p>\n

The act of ordering lunch has never been so entertaining!<\/p>\n

ABOUT THE SHOW<\/strong><\/h3>\n

WHEN THOUGHTS ATTACK received a first reading hosted by the Actors Fund of New York in Brooklyn, with staging and design by Cory Grant. SUNY New Paltz invited Kelly to workshop the show where she paired up with fellow alum Padraic Lillis. The world premiere occured at the prestigious Ars Nova Theatre in midtown Manhattan where it was seen and selected by the terraNova Collective for their ninth annual soloNOVA Festival at IRT. It continued to be presented regionally at theatres in the greater NYC area as well as on college campuses along the eastern seaboard. During this time The Cell Theatre in Chelsea hosted a weekly performance of the show for over a year. The play was produced off-Broadway at the Duke On 42nd Street.<\/span><\/p>\n

ABOUT THE ARTISTS<\/b><\/h3>\n

Kelly Kinsella<\/b>\u00a0has been writing and performing solo shows for over 20 years. After several years receiving invaluable comedic and interactive theatre training at the Sterling Renaissance Festival in upstate New York, she worked for the Walt Disney World Company creating original characters at EPCOT, MGM Studios and for special events. In NYC Kelly has worked for the Moonwork Company doing Shakespeare and appearing weekly as Erma Shvineshtucker in the cult favorite DICK DANGER. Kelly has been a regular at the NY Fringe and received rave reviews from The NYTimes and Backstage for her performances in THE NAKED GUY and BELIEVE IN ME: A BIGFOOT MUSICAL. She has done several short independent films for Nickelodeon and Paul Lucas Productions. She voiced many of the characters for the original Grand Theft Audio video game. Kelly has performed stand up in NYC, Boston and LA. Kelly is a member of Theatrical Wardrobe Union Local 764 and has been the personal dresser on Broadway for Liza Minelli, Bernadette Peters and Jeff Goldblum. Kelly teaches The Art of Solo Performance at colleges. She is also a certified yoga instructor and has been practicing yoga since her freshman year at SUNY New Paltz where she graduated with degrees in Theatre and French.<\/span><\/p>\n

Padraic Lillis\u00a0<\/b>For the past ten years Padraic has been dedicated to the development of new plays, artists and companies. A few of the plays that he has worked on from inspiration to production are Lindsay Joy\u2019s RISE AND FALL OF A TEENAGE CYBERQUEEN (Awarded NY IT Award for Outstanding Director and Outstanding Production), Lee Kaplan\u2019s award-winning solo show BULLY (awarded NY International Fringe Festival’s Overall Excellence Award for Directing), Scott Hudson\u2019s play SWEET STORM, and Adina Taubman\u2019s award winning solo show A LINE IN THE SAND (a docudrama based on the school shootings at Columbine). As a playwright he has been produced nationally. His play TWO THIRDS HOME is published by Dramatists Play Services, his solo show HOW TO SURVIVE CRACK ADDICTION is published by Indie Theater Now, and LIGHTS UP ON THE FADE OUT was awarded Top 10 Plays of 2011 in L.A. He has taught his play development workshop since 2009, and is an adjunct professor with NYU\u2019s Department of Dramatic Writing. He helped design and oversaw the education program for Labyrinth Theater Company. Padraic was awarded the Dayton Hudson Distinguished Artist Fellowship to be in residence at Carlton College. He is a graduate of SUNY New Paltz and a lifelong Yankee fan.<\/span><\/p>\n

KK Live! has produced, co-produced and\/or presented four original one woman shows written and performed by Kelly Kinsella. EXCUSE ME, I APPEAR TO HAVE MISPLACED MY SOUL, KELLY KINSELLA LIVE! UNDER BROADWAY, WHEN THOUGHTS ATTACK and HOW TO DO A ONE PERSON SHOW have been presented in New York City and Los Angeles at The Upright Citizen\u2019s Brigade, Joe\u2019s Pub, Ars Nova, off-Broadway, off-off Broadway and many little black box theatres below 14th St. as well as cabaret spaces, community centers, college auditoriums, regional theatres and fringe festivals from Orlando to Seattle and some places in between!<\/span><\/p>\n
