\n<\/a>CoHo’s 22nd Season begins with Madeleine George’s Pulitzer Prize nominated\u00a0<\/span>The (Curious Case of the) Watson Intelligence<\/em>, a time-traveling love triangle between the head, the heart, and the machine. Directed by Producing Artistic Director Philip Cuomo, Watson features a trio of talented actors both familiar and brand new to CoHo audiences.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Sarah Ellis Smith<\/strong> is making her Pacific Northwest debut as Eliza<\/strong>, a brilliant computer engineer specializing \"\"<\/a>in natural language processing systems and innovative late night snack combinations. Sarah’s previous credits include work with the New Orleans Shakespeare Festival at Tulane, Swine Palace (Baton Rouge, LA) and Gainesville Theatre Alliance in Georgia. Some of her favorite roles include Rita (Educating Rita<\/em>), Helena (A Midsummer Night\u2019s Dream<\/em>), Cordelia (King Lear<\/em>), and Nora (A Doll\u2019s House<\/em>). She founded Compleat Stage, a non-profit organization in Louisiana focused on multidisciplinary collaboration and arts education. In addition to her work in theatre, Sarah\u2019s most recent film and TV credits include Into the Badlands<\/em> (AMC), American Horror Story<\/em> (FOX), Treme<\/em> (HBO) and The Host<\/em> (Chockstone Pictures). Sarah holds an MFA from Louisiana State University and a BA from Brenau University.<\/span><\/p>\n

Portland theatre stalwart Gavin Hoffman<\/strong> returns to CoHo where he previously co-produced and directed \"\"<\/a>Marsha Norman’s ‘night Mother<\/em> and acted in Annie Baker’s Body Awareness<\/em>. He plays Frank Merrick<\/strong>, an intense and slightly rage-y lawyer\/local political candidate\/Eliza’s very recently ex-husband. Some of Gavin’s\u00a0Portland credits include Duncan McDougall in <\/span>Astoria Part 1<\/span><\/i>, Joe in <\/span>Great Expectations<\/span><\/i>, Ligniere in <\/span>Cyrano<\/span><\/i>, Iago in <\/span>Othello,<\/span><\/i> and Karl\/Steve in <\/span>Clybourne Park <\/span><\/i>at Portland Center Stage; Ted in <\/span>American Hero<\/span><\/i>, Harry in <\/span>The Understudy, <\/span><\/i>and Dieter in <\/span>The Monster-Builder<\/span><\/i> at Artists Repertory Theatre; Ellard in <\/span>The Foreigner<\/span><\/i> at Lakewood Theatre; Wolf\/Red in <\/span>To Cape, The Tripping Point<\/span><\/i> at Shaking the Tree; Ken in <\/span>Fifth of July<\/span><\/i> at Profile Theatre; Hank in <\/span>A Noble Failure<\/span><\/i> at Third Rail. He has guest-starred in <\/span>The Big Easy<\/span><\/i> (USA) and <\/span>Leverage<\/span><\/i> (TNT), co-starred in <\/span>Grimm<\/span><\/i> (NBC), and appeared in <\/span>Portlandia<\/span><\/i>. He is the recipient of four Drammy Awards, a graduate of PCPA, and has a BFA in acting from Ithaca College. He is a proud member of Actors’ Equity and SAG-AFTRA.<\/span><\/p>\n

Eric Martin Reid<\/strong> joins us as Watson<\/strong>, the multifaceted being who is Jeopardy champ\/IT dweeb\/sidekick to\u00a0<\/span>Sherlock Holmes\/co-inventor of the telephone all in one. He is a member of SAG-AFTRA, a graduate of the Professional A<\/span>ctor’s Training Program at the Dell\u2019Arte International School for Physical Theatre, and he went on to study Advanced Meisner with Laurel Vouvray at the Actor’s Avenue Studio. Eric has worked onstage with theatres including Insight Out, Sojourn Theatre, Sowelu Theatre, Imago, and CoHo. TV and film credits include a guest starring role on NBC’s <\/span>Grimm<\/span><\/i>, <\/span>Leverage<\/span><\/i>,<\/span> Portlandia<\/span><\/i>, and <\/span>Extraordinary Measures<\/span><\/i>. As a writer and first time director Eric’s short film <\/span>Kidz<\/span><\/i> won Best Comedy at the 2014 NW Short Film Festival. He recently wrapped on the film <\/span>Six Nights<\/span><\/i>,<\/span> which he also co-wrote for Limbo Films. Eric teaches at The Studio Northwest and with Acting for Kids and Teens.<\/span><\/p>\n
