Step into the lab\u2026 What happens when you take Mary Shelley\u2019s classic horror novel Frankenstein<\/em> \u2014 mix elements from James Whale\u2019s cinematic interpretation and Abbot & Costello’s shtick \u2014 then introduce classical music legends Beethoven and Chopin \u2014 add a healthy sprinkling of Romanticism \u2014and distill it all with the pure physical comedy of clowning? Sounds like an experiment for the CoHo Clown CoHort<\/strong>! The ensemble that brought you Philip\u2019s Glass Menagerie <\/em>and Witch Hunt<\/em> return for a third consecutive year of Fertile Ground mischief when Beethoven & Chopin Meet the Bride of Frankenstein!<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

ABOUT THE COHO CLOWN COHORT<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Supported by a Creative Heights grant from the Oregon Community Foundation, the CoHo Clown CoHort<\/strong> was created to cultivate an experimental ensemble of clown performers and contextualize the value of clowning in the modern theatre landscape. Previous work includes Philip\u2019s Glass Menagerie<\/a>,<\/em> an adaptation of the Tennessee Williams classic exploring whether or not an emotionally intimate story can be told truthfully and powerfully through the extreme physical expression of clowning; and Witch Hunt<\/a><\/em>, inspired by the Puritan work ethic, maybe a famous play, and the thrilling boundary between freedom and repression. <\/p>\n
