Corrib Theatre presents the Pacific Northwest Premiere of an Irish Dramatic Comedy

Chapatti

Written by Christian O’Reilly

Directed by Gemma Whelan

Performed by Allen Nause and Jacklyn Maddux

ABOUT THE PLAY

Chapatti is a love story between two people who have given up on the possibility of love. Dan lives alone in a Dublin flat and spends his time with his dog, Chapatti. Betty also lives alone – with her nineteen cats. Chapatti is a tender, funny, compassionate and unsentimental play about second chances. It has a gentle and straightforward tone, a purity and immediacy that relies on the power of the spoken word, the challenge of communication, and the complexity of lived and shared experience.

Chapatti premiered at Chicago’s Northlight Theatre in 2014 starring Tony Award winner John Mahoney, where it was nominated for a Jeff Award for Best New Work.

“A gentle, sublime and honest script that drills home the need for and the power of human companionship.”
– Chicago Critic
