Slutheby’s Live Auction
Slutheby’s Live Auction
Presented by Libby
Sept. 20, 2024 @ 7:30 PM
An exclusive live auction featuring original oil paintings by American Treasure Miss Piggy. Through the lens of her art, Slutheby’s auctioneer and Muppet Historian Laureate provides historical context and unveils salacious details of this iconic Muppet’s life. Through narrative, surreal, and erotic scenes, the depths of Miss Piggy’s private world comes to light, including her relationship with Kermit the Frog, their ever evolving polycule, her issues with rage and her healing journey. A hilarious romp that touches on what it really means to be a muppet, and maybe even what it means to be human.
About the Creative Team
Libby Landauer (Creator/Director/Actor) is a multidisciplinary artist with a passion for performance, painting, and laughter. As a lifelong thespian (famously misheard by their Grandmother as Lesbian, for which that is now largely true as well) Landauer has always found a home in the community and collaboration theater provides. For the past two years Landauer has been enchanted by the private lives of Muppets as a conduit to explore humanity through the lens of humor.
Jared “ashi” Maurice Dancler (Actor) is an interdisciplinary artist from Schoharie Valley, New York, now a resident of this Multnomah Valley. Since landing on the west coast Ashi has been learning how to tell stories with movement, song, words, and relationships. Workshop in the butoh lineage have informed his dance, as well as a deepening connection with nature & spirituality. A recent alum of the N.E.W. artist residency, he comes to the table with emotive fervor, tapping into the realms of unseen language.
Elizabeth Brown (Actor/Production Design) has had a passion for embodying influential women from a young age. Her debut role as Gladys Herdman in “The Best Christmas Pageant Ever” (Lakewood Theater for the Performing Arts, 1998) marks the beginning of a lifelong journey to explore the intricacies of power within the female form. Tonight you will see her take on the titular roles of Farmer’s Wife, Rodeo Queen, and Pig 1. Three more notches in this girdler’s divine feminine belt.
Anna Greer (Actor/Theatre Doula) is a singing and dancing performance artist and community-Hollywood theorist for the benefit of humanity.
Hasmood Mahmood (Production Effects), a first-generation Iraqi wizard of tech, spins immersive worlds using 3D animation, projection mapping, interactive sensors, and a dash of AI magic. His art dances between isolation and connection, critiquing society with dark humor and a hint of the surreal. From surveillance states to the oddities of everyday life, his work invites viewers to laugh, ponder, and lose themselves in the blend of nature and machine.
Molly Dennig (Actor) has always been a supporter of the arts, and only recently has taken a dive into the world of theater. As a child she spent years making high quality copy-cats of her friends drawings. It can be frustrating having to constantly remind others that imitation is the highest form of flattery. In her latest iteration, Molly spends her creative energy on her life as an Ice Cream Birthday Party Emcee Tap Dancer. Sometimes those things are separate, and sometimes they are not.
Marissa Behringer (Props Daddy/Marketing Mama) is a seasoned doer, who received bespoke training on how to best sandbag and undersell her talents in West Michigan. Following her set contributions to Holland High School’s State winning production of ‘The Boyfriend’ in 2006, she took a sabbatical from theater to focus on pulling herself up by the bootstraps. She received Nicole Richie’s autograph during a jewelry launch at LA’s Kitson boutique in 2009, and was allowed into Berghain nightclub in 2018. She is currently working on accessing her vulnerability, and is allergic to shea butter.
