EDIE_POSTER_FINALEDIE is the creation of Christopher Kenney, a native of Portland, OR who started dancing at 8 years-old, putting on little shows along the side of his house for the neighbor kids. You couldn’t beat the price. Ten cents.

At 17, he began his professional dance career with Ballet Oregon. For eleven years he danced with Pacific Northwest Ballet, Ballet Chicago, Pennsylvania Ballet, and Les Ballets Grandiva before moving to New York to pursue musical theater. In New York he quickly found work dancing on the MTV Video Music Awards with Roseanne Barr, on The Rosie O’Donnell Show, and was invited to be a part of the workshop that lead to the Tony-winning Broadway musical “Fosse.”

Shortly after that EDIE was born on a crisp Halloween night at a local West Village hotspot called Universal Grill. She was offered to host her own night on the spot. EDIE quickly became a fixture in New York City racking up a bevvy of awards including Best Drag performer (HX Magazine Award), Best Dance Artist and Entertainer of the Year (Glammy Award). She starred in her autobiographical, off-Broadway original musical “LEGS!,” was seen on HBO’s “Sex and the City,” was featured at Wigstock, and in several benefits for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS including “Broadway Bares,” “Gypsy of the Year,” and in the all-star performance of “Funny Girl” with Whoopi Goldberg and Bebe Neuwirth. EDIE co-hosted “It’s Judy Show!,” a live weekly talk show with Emmy-winning comedienne Judy Gold for two years at Caroline’s Comedy Club.

EDIE made her big screen debut in “Pot Luck” and followed that up with a cameo in “A Four Letter Word.” In 2006 she made her Broadway debut in the Tony-nominated revival of “The ThreePenny Opera” with Alan Cumming and Cyndi Lauper” at Studio 54.

The next year EDIE got the call of a lifetime from Cirque du Soleil. She was invited to audition for the role of the Emcee in their hit show “Zumanity” in Las Vegas. She got the job and is now in her 6th year as the host of the “Zumanity: The Sensual Side of Cirque du Soleil” at the NY-NY Hotel & Casino. EDIE just celebrated her 2500th show as the “Mistress of Sensuality.” Since assuming the role, she performed for over 3 million people from all over the world.
