Lucy’s beginning to think it’s all electrical. Creation. Destruction. Her friends flashing and flickering, her mother dimmed. (Not to mention whatever grownups do behind closed doors.) Her search for sparks of meaning–and the meaning of sparks–threatens to become obsessive. More and more, it looks like a good day to stand out in a thunderstorm.
