Make a donation to CoHo

This spring we are celebrating the community rooted here at the CoHo Resource Center and raising funds to keep it going! Over the past two years, we’ve watched the Resource Center blossom from the seed of an idea. Now, it’s a thriving and active creative hot spot with over 60 individual and organizational members!

The Resource Center is more than just a place that offers critical material support for artists. It’s a place that nourishes their creative process, enriching the Portland theater landscape as whole. YOU too can nourish that landscape with a donation to support the Resource Center. Help us reach our $10,000 goal this spring and watch our community bloom!

Meet our Residents!

We want to introduce you to some of the members that make our center so meaningful, and bring you deeper into the exciting work they’re developing at CoHo. We sat down with some members to get their perspectives on their creative evolutions, the artistic scene in Portland, the challenges facing independent producers today, and where the Resource Center fits into it all. And we’re ready to share with YOU!

Written and performed By Alanna Fagan
April 24th-26th  Friday-Saturday 7:30,
Sunday 5pm
Masked only performance Sunday April 26th at 5pm

Alanna Fagan’s newest solo work is 30% panic attack, 50% existential journey, and 20% solo Karaoke. From Squishmallows to heartbreak, Every Pretty Thing explores the stuff we hold onto, the stuff we need to unload on someone else, and the stuff that just stays boxed up until we can really sort through it.

The Nancy Boys!

Performed by Nick and Justin Condon
May 3rd at 7pm!

All folks who like lively adventure stories, packed with mystery and action, will want to see every improvised mystery starring husband-duo Nick & Justin Condon as Frank & Joe Nancy.Sons of a famous American detective, the Nancy Boys help solve many thrilling cases after school hours and during vacations, as they follow up the clues they unearth in their quest to bring criminals to justice.

Imagine watching an episode of your favorite 1950’s sitcom on stage, but with the wry commentary of today. Plus it’s all based on audience suggestion. That’s right, it’s all made up on the spot. No two mysteries are ever the same – that’s the magic of improv comedy.

Featuring only two actors, this sendup of “Classic Americana” is full of character swaps, pops, and slides as they paint the fictional town of “Gayport, USA.”

Discord is a free communication app that lets you share voice, video, and text chat with your friends and community. The CoHo Community Discord is a virtual hang-out spot for those who want to be in dialogue about art, ideas, and upcoming events happening in our city. This platform is important because it creates a virtual space for our community to be in conversation with each other, allowing artists to share their work with an interested audience of fellow artists and creators, and enabling them to receive feedback in real time.

By utilizing Discord, CoHo hopes to create an online digital community of thinkers, creators, and engaged patrons that is active and accessible to anyone, not just CoHo artists, in the hopes that by connecting our community, support and enthusiasm for the arts will blossom and grow.

Anti-Racism Statement

CoHo Productions stands in solidarity with our BIPOC community. We commit to join those working to dismantle the entrenched, institutionalized racism that makes it possible for the centuries of violence against POC to continue. We acknowledge that white supremacy is central to systems of oppression, and that by not dismantling it, we have been complicit in keeping it intact. We commit to examining and deconstructing that white supremacy in our organization, listening and making space for voices of Black artists and artists of color, and actively working to fight racism in all of its explicit and implicit forms.

Land Acknowledgement

CoHo acknowledges the roles of White supremacy and colonization that are deeply embedded in the technology, organizational structures, and way of life we experience everyday. We acknowledge the land and resources we use to create our programming rests on the historic village sites of the many tribes who made their homes along the Columbia and Willamette rivers. We challenge ourselves and our community to consider how we play into the social structures that govern our everyday lives, reflecting on our roles in decolonization, reconciliation, and allyship.
